High above Nærøyfjorden. A classic and fairly moderate hike through a valley, continued with a hard final climb. A grande view awaits.
Finding where to park your car seems to be more challenging sometimes than actually the hike. That might be true for Bakkanosi, with starting location Jordalen Skole. If you are using Google Road Directions, there is a chance Google wants you to take the old road. Do not take the old road. The road google might lead you on is both overgrown, extremely rough for asphalt cars, and blocked. There is a new way to where you are parking. Turn right immediately after passing Jordalen Maskin A/S. There is even a small yellow sign that says Jordalen, and points to your right.
There is a new tunnel that goes straight through a mountain, and to Jordalen. Continue until you find a lot of parked cars/ or if you are the first there, a field to accommodate a lot for cars.
The trail starts shortly behind the parking area. There is a small hard zig-zag dirt road that you must scale in order to come up to the valley.
Hiking to Bakkanosi is actually performed in three parts. The first, is through a beautiful valley, in fairly easy/moderate terrain. The first part accommodates roughly 40% of the hike. The river next to where you are going is an excellent source of fresh water. In the further end of the valley, you will see where the second part of the hike begins.
When you have made it all the way to the end of the valley, you start on the second part. Ascension. Here, you will ascend from the valley, and up to the mountain ridge. Before finally you get to the third part. The very end of the second part is also the last time you will be able to refill your water supply. There is a rather large water there.
The third and final part is actually getting up on Bakkanosi, and to the summit. Leaving the last place you can get water. The hike continues on a way more difficult terrain.
Getting up to Bakkanosi can be quite slippery, as you have to walk up a stone pile, with a lot of gravel. If that wasn´t hard enough, the cairns that indicates you are on the right path, blends into the surroundings like camouflage. You need to keep an eye out for the cairns, as they are quite hard to spot. That is also true for when you are up on Bakkanosi, and making your way to the summit. The cairns are hard to see, and the terrain hard to walk on.
The summit of Bakkanosi hosts a grande vista. There are some excellent spots to camp with a tent, that is not on rock- but on gras. First come first serve.
It is possible to walk further, on a ridge to the left. If you have seen a photo somewhere i.e instagram, and it doesn't match with the final view. It is possible the photo was taken on that appendix ridge.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
