A ravine in Northern Øygarden Archipelago. Ideal for a day trip, including a family BBQ with designated bonfire pits- and a hut to enjoy the beautiful vista of the Atlantic Ocean.

Parking

Parking can be done at Hjelme Kirke (Hjelme Church). There are more parking space further inn.

The Way

From the churchyard, there are two ways to go to the ravine. First, make your way to the graveyard. There is a road just behind the chapel.

Your options are either;

  • to take left through a gate,
  • or to walk through the graveyard itself, to access a gravel road on the other side of the fence.

I chose the latter. You can eventually chose the alternative route for return.

Optional detour

Since the hike to the ravine is actually quite short, you can extend it by circle around the shore. Take the right path in the forest, and you'll get to the shoreline. from there, keep the ocean to your right, as you hike southwards.

The Ravine

The entrance to the ravine can be a bit tricky to spot, as its quite narrow and doesn't allow light to pierce all the way through from your perspective.

Since the ravine is small, there are certain people whom will not get through. As for myself. My jacket kept scraping both sides at the narrowest point. If you are one off-change of not getting through it, you can go over the hill on which the ravine is set in.

The Return

If you want return on the alternative path, you can take the right in the forest on the main path. The path should be well defined, and brings you to the foot of a steep hill.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
